In recent months we've had frequent, productive meetings with our architect for Phase 2 of our parish expansion plan - a gathering space to the right of the church. The design details for the new space look amazing, reflect the current and future needs of our parish, and should be finalized by the end of March. Sadly, our civil engineer has informed us that due to county requirements for a storm water management plan and permits, our groundbreaking will be delayed until the end of this year or early next year. But fear not, Phase 2 is definitely happening!

In the Spring of 2017 we launched ‘Led by Love’, a five year capital campaign to fund our parish expansion plan. From donations received within the first year we completed Phase 1 in November of 2018 - new entranceway, with restrooms and prep spaces for liturgical ministers. Phase 2 is a gathering space to the right of the church with a design that provides flexibility for both intimate and larger gatherings. The pandemic may have extended our timeline, but we are on track to break ground for Phase 2 in the Summer of 2023.
Led by Love’s original goal was to raise $2 million. Through the generous response of our parishioners, we got to 87% of our goal in pledges. The estimated cost for Phase 2 is $1.8 million. How will Phase 2 be paid for? With remaining funds from Led by Love and through our partnership with St. Pius X Regional School, our goal is within reach. But we need your help. Please consider making a generous gift or pledge to Led by Love Phase 2. Your pledge can be spread over two years. You can donate by check or credit card or through Faith Direct.

Please continue to pray for Led by Love and the future of our parish. God is blessing St. Pius X and we are growing. In the month of September alone, 11 new families joined our parish. Many churches are struggling to recover from the pandemic, yet I am extremely hopeful about the future of St. Pius X Church. With the commitment and generosity of all our parishioners, our future will be bright. May God bless St. Pius X Church as we continue to make our parish vision a reality:
To form disciples, in and beyond Bowie, who joyfully live out the mission of Jesus Christ
